Wired Productions has announced that Martha is Dead will be censored on PS4 and PS5. Additionally, the PS4 and PS5 physical releases will be delayed by several weeks.
Martha is Dead is an upcoming survival horror game developed by LKA and published by Wired Productions. First announced in late 2019, this game is shaping up to be a subtly terrifying experience (albeit with a few hiccups every now and again). Unfortunately, PS4 and PS5 players are going to have to wait a while longer to play it.

‘We Have Had to Modify the Experience’ of Martha is Dead on PS4 & PS5, Wired Productions Says
The announcement of Martha is Dead censorship was made earlier today in a tweet from Wired Productions, along with the disappointing news that the physical versions for those consoles will be delayed by several weeks.
“It is with regret that we have had to modify the experience on the PS5 and PS4 versions, with some elements no longer playable,” read the statement from Wired Productions. “After over four years of passion and hard work, Developer LKA now requires extra time to make these unplanned changes. Martha Is Dead, as a result, will still launch digitally on both PS5 and PS5 on Thursday, February 24th, 2022, but the physical retail release will be delayed to a [yet-to-be-disclosed] date; although we anticipate this to only be a small number of weeks.”
The statement regarding Martha is Dead censorship on PS4 and PS5 goes on to explain that the physical releases will contain the bonus content: a double-sided poster, digital tarot cards, and a digital EP. The PC and Xbox versions of the game will be unaffected by these changes and will include “the full unedited gameplay” as the developer intended to present it.
Sony has previously come under fire for mandating changes to game content. In 2018, Xseed Games announced that it would have to delay Senran Kagura Burst Re:Newal, apparently implying that Sony required some gameplay elements to be censored. Two weeks later, it was discovered that the visual novel Nora to Oujo to Noraneko Heart HD Version was censored on PS4 and otherwise unaffected on PC, Nintendo Switch, or PS Vita.
We’ve reached out to Sony regarding this matter and will update this article when we receive a reply. Martha is Dead will launch for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox on February 24, 2022. For now, you can add Martha is Dead to your wishlist on Steam and learn more about the game on its official website.
